The Heavens Descend..!

“The Heavens Descend”. Ashburton Gorge, NZ

Mandy and I had been camping for the weekend in this area enjoying warm autumn weather, and as we packed up Sunday afternoon to return home, noticed the initial tell tale signs of an imminent cold southerly weather front approaching, with dark cloud starting to creep over the tops of the surrounding hills..

As we headed home down the road, this gorgeous landscape was about to get a beating with the southerly about to hit… We stopped the car and set up the camera and tripod to capture this dramatic image…

Within ten minutes of this the heavens opened to torrential rain….
