Mt White Station, is a vast station, which comprises a large front section of river flats, that is cut off from the rear section by a mountain range ..

There is an 18 kilometre track that follows up beside the Esk river gorge linking both halves…

As a result these Station huts are a vital part of everyday farming operations, with staff frequently staying in any one of these for the duration of the job in hand, whether this be fencing, mustering stock in our out ..

On Mt White Station there are some eight frequently used huts scattered over this vast area..

Since my last visit to this station I understand the century old name for this hut, the mountain behind it and stream adjacent have all had a name change to suit our modern “pc” world, but that another story for another day..!
