Years ago, when high country sheep stations did much of the day to day work “manually”, these Musterers Huts were a vital, and much used part of the farm work calendar, however as modern machinery and even today helicopters taking the place of 6 to 8 men mustering the blocks, many of these iconic huts have little or no further use and in many cases have been left to fall into disrepair..
Mandy and I spent a couple of hours in this area this cold, yet inviting place, capturing photographs, and yarning about our early high country life in a neighboring station…
