Andersons Corner..!

This Andersons Hut, is at the very back of the vast Mt White Station in the hills of Canterbury, there are little or no fencing around this area, so a trust of ones horses not to take off is a must..

This day we had left Deep Creek hut at 4.30am, climbing in the cool early morning up to the top of the Dampier Range that divides Eskhead and Mt White Stations, then descended the long Andersons Spur down to this hut, a trip that took around 10 hours, so a long hard day..

We arrived mid afternoon to blistering hot 30 deg day, so the horses enjoyed standing in the stream to have a well deserved feed..

Many places in our back country have a heavy population of sandflies, which just love human and horse flesh, so as a part of the trip gear we take these special anti fly horse covers that cover 90 % of the horse allowing them to graze and sleep reasonably comfortably..!
